Church Leader Bios

Trent Kissel (269) 377-8315 – Elder

Trent has been an elder at the West Side congregation since 2015. He enjoys leading bible study classes and opportunities to fellowship with other Christians.

Trent likes spending time with his family and traveling to warm climate locations where he always likes to fish. When at home his favorite past times are fishing/boating, hunting, and exploring all areas of Michigan.

Trent is a human resources/safety director where he has opportunities to help others grow professionally and build successful futures.

Trent is married to Janis and they have a daughter and a son.


Gerry Klok (269) 382-1816 – Elder

Gerry has been an elder at the West Side congregation since 2016. He retired from the Upjohn Company after 34 years of service as a Senior Chemical operator. After four and a half years Gerry went back to work at the West Michigan Cancer Center as a courier for 8 1/2 years ending in January of 2021.

Gerry lived in the Parchment area most of his life and graduated from Parchment High School in 1971.

Gerry enjoys a lot of sports, especially baseball as he played a lot of it in his younger years. Gerry also enjoys traveling, walking, swimming, fishing, theater, detailing cars, and some lite reading.

Gerry has been married to his wife Linda for 47 years and they have 3 children. They have also been blessed with 5 grandchildren, and try to attend as much of their activities as they can.


Rick Wadsworth (269) 484-4224 – Elder

Rick was born on March 6, 1949 at Borgess Hospital. He has two brothers, Dave and Scott and a sister Wendy.

Rick graduated from Portage Northern High School in 1967. He served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972 where he was assigned aboard the U.S.S. Charles Adams DDG2.

Rick married Linda Hinson on March 22, 1969. They have 2 children, a daughter Lennie and a son Stephen.

Rick retired from Western Michigan University Power Plant in 2000

Ricks hobbies include drag racing, hockey, and hunting with flint lock rifles only.


Phillip Clay – Deacon,

Phillip grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan and became a Christian while dating his beloved wife Diane. They have two daughters Beki and Bethany who are also Christians as well as their two grandchildren Maddie and Jack.

Phillip has a BA from Michigan State University in Communication Arts and worked at several broadcast sites. He had a 30 year career in Biomedical Engineering at the VA in Battle Creek specializing in imaging service, retiring in 2019.

Phillip loves teaching and preaching and has over the years served as a deacon, elder, and youth sponsor. He has been a director and treasurer for Christ’s Mission in the Yucatan since 1985 having visited the Yucatan in Mexico several times.

Phillip published Living Oracles for Today, a revision of Alexander Campbell’s New Testament.

Phillip says that he loves the church and hopes the Restoration Movement will fulfill its divine purpose for unity.
